Kiss me Deadly and Sixth Sense sequences and analysis

In this 9 sequence frame i have sumed up the following:

  • The opening title

  • Setting/location

  • Costume

  • Camerawork/editing

  • Title font/style

  • Story/ How it is set up

  • Genre of the film

  • How characters are introduced

  • Special shots/effects

The opening title is quite simple, it is located in the middle of the beginning credits. It appears for around 3 seconds and fades out. I found the fade out quite affective as it almost unravells the story and that it may be about ghosts and spirits because they tend to fade out. The story is set in a house down in the cellar when the lady goes to get a bottle of wine. this shows that it is located in quite a scary dark house, and that the characters must be celebrating something. The costumes are quite simple and smartly dressed, again emphasising that they are celebrating something. For the camera work i chose the panning shot which zooms into the award frame, this is a good shot as it shows that this is an important part of the film otherwise it wouldnt zoom into it. The title font is quite simple and the colour is white. These gives little away as it is simple and unrevealing. The natural white colour symbolises spirits and ghosts and then leaves the rest up to our imagination. The character is first introduced when she goes down to the cellar to get some wine. One special shot is the one where the characters are reflected through the mirror award. This is an unusual shot as it again explains that the award frame plays a big deal in the film
